From Research Lab to Art Studio

Hello and welcome to my blog!

I am Mitra Soorani, a former full-time researcher and lifelong artist. For years, I lived between two worlds: science and creativity. While my academic life was filled with awards, conferences, and complex projects, my true passion has always been art — and more importantly, learning how to share that art with the world.

This blog is the beginning of a new chapter.

Over the past year, I’ve been exploring how to build a business around art, using the skills I developed in research — critical thinking, storytelling, persistence — and applying them to marketing, branding, and online growth.

To support this journey, I enrolled in a university marketing course and took additional classes in photography and new media. I wanted to learn how to not just create art, but present it effectively — on social media, websites, and digital platforms that connect artists with audiences.
